Why use IR thermometers in my application? Temperature is often the first and easiest-to-find indication of a developing problem and can be quickly used as a screening technique for situations that will benefit from further analysis with other Fluke tools such as a DMM or clamp meter. A non-contact IR thermometer allows you to stay a safe distance from the object and get the most accurate readings across a wide range of temperatures, thus, the term non contact.

Handheld infrared thermometers are designed for applications requiring users to instantly measure temperature in hard-to-reach areas where you might need a ladder or where the object is hot, rapidly changing temperature, rotating, difficult to reach, energized, or in other dangerous situations (such as high voltage). In harsh environments where fixed or contact thermometers are unable to meet your requirements, a Fluke infrared thermometer is the better solution. Fluke uses an extra bright laser to aim the thermometer at the specific object to ensure you are reading the right temperature at the safest distance, hence, the term 'laser thermometer'."

Fluke also offers multiple models of contact thermometers and all the accessories to go with them. If your application calls for an internal temperature reading with laboratory accuracy (0.05% + 0.3°C), and split second results, check out the rugged, handheld Fluke 50 series for your application.

Whether you need contact, non-contact or both in the same thermometer, Fluke has the right tool for your application.
